Yell.com, the local business directory, is running a cool new competition to offer the biggest hipsters out there a chance to win big prizes by rummaging through vintage record shops.
Across the nation they are rewarding people for finding a somewhat obscure track in independent music stores – Pulse & Thunder by Day V. Readers can use the Yell.com App or go on the website to find the stores, and if they manage to find this track and snap a picture of them holding the vinyl, they can upload the photo to the Yell.com Facebook page for a chance to win some awesome gifts. The grand prize is a whopping £10k worth of prizes, but there are also smaller prizes, including a 55" Sony 3D TV, surround sound systems, mixing decks, and more.
I'll be honest, I was never that into my 90s dance so I'm not familiar with the song, but the campaign idea is very interesting. It feels like the Shoreditch version of Willy Wonka. I wonder who would play Charlie Bucket, is Jarvis Cocker too old?
