High end sunglasses brand Ray Ban have always been ahead of the game when it comes to viral marketing, in the past three years they have released nearly two dozen videos on their youtube channel Never Hide Films. Ray Ban’s take on viral videos is a bit bizarre as most of the videos dont directly link to the brand, while this can be beneficial for the the advert it can also make it pointless if no one makes the connection.
While not all of the videos on the channel have been successful there have been a few that generated views in the millions. Sunglasses Catch managed to gain millions of views by using video magic, Cow Gives Birth To A Dude and Guy Has Glasses Tattooed used shock and awe to hook the audience and get the views.
This new addition to their channel certainly is interesting, using a photocopier and stop motion they have created a short film about a guy meeting a girl. Just like many of their viral videos if it wasn’t pointed out that it was for Ray Ban then you probably not notice, this makes it hard for a viral ad to make impact.
