Legendary film maker Oliver Stone directs this action-crime-thriller featuring up and coming actors Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson and Blake lively, alongside Salma Hayek, John Travolta, Benicio Del Toro.

Savages follows two weed dealers Ben (Ivy-League graduate and entrepreneur) and Chon (ex Navy SEAL) as they run a ‘clean’ and lucrative drug business in California. The movie has a little bit of something extra with the addition of their ménage trios with shared girlfriend Ophelia.

The film is narrated by ‘O’ (Ophelia) giving a sensual, gritty and aggressive direction thanks to Stone’s use of angles and raw style. With a strong cast featuring Hayek and Del Toro as the Mexican Baja Cartel (drug lords) adamant to get a share of the American’s successful business, Travolta appears left field as the not so clean federal agent who helps Ben and Chon wage war against the Cartel.

Savages is unleashed to UK cinemas on the 21st September. I am really looking forward to seeing this film; it looks raw, edgy and intriguing. Whether it’s award worthy, I don’t know, but as a movie worth seeing for pure entertainment and as an Oliver Stone fan… I look forward to paying my money’s worth.

What do you think of the trailer? Will you be lining up upon it’s release or is this one for the bargain bucket of Blockbusters? Let us know in the comments.
