It’s been a long time coming, but the trailer for the new Bond film is finally here! Skyfall has been hotly anticipated but very little has been revealed until now.

After Casino Royale’s release, the Bond franchise had high expectations. Daniel Craig was widely respected for his adoption of the role, and the new film gave it a refreshed look that brought it into the forefront of audience’s minds once more.

However, they hit problems with the sequel Quantum of Solace for a variety of reasons. Firstly, the production landed directly in the middle of the writer’s strike, which meant the script was poor compared to its predecessor. Daniel Craig had to get involved in the writing himself, and it was a bit of a shambles from a viewer perspective. The title also confused audiences and left people not knowing what to expect.

These issues have been addressed for Skyfall, and the new film comes with high expectations. Daniel Craig has touted it as the film to make up for QoS, and the trailer fills us with anticipation. With Javier Bardem filling the role of antagonist, and Naomie Harris starring as the new Bond girl, the film is directed by Sam Mendes and due for release in October.

The teaser trailer stars Craig in an interrogation room playing a word association game with a psychiatrist. They go through a series of words, ultimately ending with the psychiatrist saying “Skyfall” to which Bond replies “done”, at which point he stands up from the table. The scene ends here, and a montage of exciting action clips takes its place.

It looks incredibly exciting, and I am filled with hope that it will follow in the footsteps of Casino Royale rather than Quantum of Solace and end the trilogy on a high. What do you think of the trailer? Let us know in the comments!
