I’ve been waiting for this track ever since the teaser trailer started floating around the internet last week, and boy it hasn’t failed to impress.

Hit-Boy has been around for what seems like forever, making the most incredible beats for all your favourite rappers. I’m elated that he’s taken the step into his own rap game, with his first rack Jay-Z Interview impressing those doubters with it’s clean production and J Cole-esque lyrics.

The beat is classic and calm, juxtaposing images of riding around during summer with your friends in a nonchalant, youthful glaze. The high-hat and snares mesh together so well with the rudimentary three-chord back beat, as scratches, pauses and synths pay homage to the art of hip-hop.

I’m ignoring the biggest deal about this track, Kid Cudi’s first set of bars for god knows how long. While WZRD was an impressive piece of music from both him and Dot Da Genius, everyone’s been waiting to hear what fire Cudi could put out in the booth and it seems he’s back on form. Here’s to Man On The Moon Three.
