Recently we haven’t been posting much music since we’ve been focusing on creating our own content a lot more. However, this track was too intriguing to go under the radar and I had to put a post up about it.

James Franco. Actor, author, comedian, artist, producer, screenwriter, professor, poet, and now musician. The guy is incredibly talented and continuously exceeds any expectations thrown at him.

This latest piece of work is a collaboration with his long time friend Tim O’Keefe, and it’s a great track. It’s a trippy mo-town inspired summer track with O’Keefe singing and Franco’s spoken word track over the top, lamenting a past love. Franco said the following about the project:

“I’ll tell you this: it’s always weird to talk about a new thing. I know I do a lot of things. I’m very aware of that. I’m sure there are a lot of skeptical people, hearing about me doing music… To me, it all comes from a similar place. It’s like using different tools to express things in different ways.” – James Franco

This track is off his debut EP, MotorCity which he will be releasing under the moniker “Daddy”. The video is an instagram inspired kaleidoscope of summer girls dancing around in various filters and frames, with the bizarre inclusion of Franco’s parents’ wedding photos near the end. This brings a sense of familiarity to an otherwise ethereal video, and brings the track back into the life of it’s creator.

What do you think of the video? Has Franco succeeded in yet another artistic field? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
