I thought I’d push the boat out and give you guys some new hip-hop. One of our favourite artists here at Control The Riot, Lupe Fiasco, teases us with the first track from his highly awaited upcoming album Food & Liquor 2.

After the perpetually disappointing L.A.S.E.R.S curated by the fatcats running Atlantic Records, Lupe is back on form, with this track it sounds like a joint that could be proceeding the ever glorious ‘Kick Push’ on the original F&L album.

The track is sampled from revered producer Pete Rock, something he’s not particularly happy with, having created the original beat with two of his close friends who have now died. However, I think the track bumps hard, definitely a summer tune for those of you reckless enough to listen to Lupe without being labeled a bohemian liberal.

Unknown as to when the track is released in the UK for now, however you can anticipate it will be soon as it’s already available for purchase in the U.S.

What’d you think of the track, a perfect apology track to start Lupe with a clean slate after the disaster that was L.A.S.E.R.S – or more of the overproduced, unoriginal beats?
