Blizzard has just let loose its latest Diablo 3 teaser and in true Blizzard style it is nothing short of astounding. The onslaught of grotesque demonic figures, flaming tendrils and electrified explosions make for an epic introduction to the third in the series of this Action RPG.

In terms of gameplay Diablo games generally stick to a tried and tested isometric camera view and Diablo 3 is no exception. However a big shake up is the integration of 3D levels, the feel of the old 2D isometric games is still there but enemies are able to use their environment more imaginatively (e.g. crawling out of bottomless pits or hiding behind pillars).

In order to give the game a nudge into the world of present day visuals, Blizzard have elected to shun the now dusty Havok engine and instead are using their own, in-house engine. This means more debris, better explosions and incredible special effects.

Blizzard originally planned to have cut sequences of a similar calibre to this one in the actual game but have since decided they would detract from the games storyline.
